Important Notice to Parents of Children Aged 7 to 15
Dear Parents,
Before reaching out, please take a moment to read this:
I was raised with traditional Malay values, and my teaching reflects that. I believe in discipline, authority, and results. If your child misbehaves, fails to complete assignments without notice, or submits sloppy, careless work, I will correct and scold them on the spot if I need to—even in front of other students—because discipline is not a private matter. If that bothers you, I am not the tutor for your child.
I use the “King and Slave” method to instill discipline, and I will not change my approach just because of your one request, as it has been proven effective throughout my teaching career of over a decade, working with children and early teens. I will not text or call you personally about discipline issues—I will handle them immediately, by myself, in class. I do not sugarcoat mistakes or tiptoe around discipline. Thus, with all due respect, I will not allow my teaching style to be challenged or dictated by any other approaches.
So I believe that my teaching style is not for everyone and if you’re the type to get upset when your child is scolded for their mistakes or behaviors while expecting teachers to “fix them”, again, I’m not the tutor for you.
But if you truly want them to improve in Bahasa Melayu, accept the process, and let me do my job.
Welcome aboard.
Yours truthfully,
Izz Osman
